Cabo San Lucas Dive Sites
Cabo San Lucas Bay: Pelican Rock & The Sand Falls
This
is a clam and protected site located at the edge of the submarine
canyon that forms San Lucas Bay. Depths vary from a mere 20 feet
down to 100 feet. This site is teeming with a wide variety of
big and small Tropical Fish and Invertebrates everywhere. As you
follow
the beautiful walls and slopes that are covered in Sea Fans you
will encounter Parrot Fish, Spotted Box Fish, Puffers, Mexican
Goat Fish, Angelfish, Eels and much more. It is not unusual to
spot Rays and our local Whitetip Reef Shark. This is also where
the Sand Falls (Rivers of Sand) are located. The Sand Falls are
breath taking, they look like waterfalls but they are composed
entirely of sand.
Neptunes Finger
this dive is between 30 to 100 feet. This
area consists of huge boulders covered with Hard and Soft Corals,
Sea Fans, Gorgonians, and Sponges. There is another Sand Fall
here along with an abundance of Tropical Fish, Guitar Fish, Eels,
and
the occasional Rays, Sharks, and Sea Turtles.
The Pinacle & Sea Line Rookery
This dive of 50 to 80
feet typically has strong currents and surges and is typically
explored by advanced divers. At Land’s End where the Pacific
Ocean joins the Sea of Cortez at the most southern rock of Baja.
This dive site is memorable as it is the very location that our
California Sea Lions frolic and play. Once you have had your fun
with the playful Sea Lions you will also see lots of Angel Fish,
Parrot Fish, Giant Hawkfish, Octopus, Barberfish, and schools of
baitfish such as Sardines. With nothing more than the Sea to the
south you can occasionally spot huge Sea Bass, Sea Turtles, Whale
Sharks, and Mantas.
North Wall
This is a great dive for beginners or those just
getting back into diving. The dive begins at 10 feet and follows
a colorful rock-covered slope. A great site for spotting loads
of tropical fish, including the comical Puffer Fish, Eels, and
Lobsters. Divers can also spot the Bullseys Rays and the Diamond
Stingrays along with the occasional Whitetip Reef Shark.
